Srinagar, Oct 13 (KNO): Urging citizens to make India a centre of production for the world, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday called on the people to buy swadeshi (indigenous) products to help grow the country’s market and consumption.
After inaugurating an exhibition in Jaipur, Shah, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “We have to make Bharat Atamnirbhar and for that we have to focus on swadeshi.”
Referring to the introduction of the three new criminal laws, he said, “India’s system is driven by justice rather than punishment.”
The Union Home Minister said that the new criminal laws ensure easy and timely access to justice to all and India’s criminal justice system has shifted from a punitive approach to one focused on justice and transparency. “The three new laws will provide easy and timely access to justice for all. Through the new criminal laws, our system will be driven by justice,” Shah said.
Pertinently, the new laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam — came into effect on July 1, 2024, replacing the colonial-era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Indian Evidence Act—(KNO)
